Articulation Agreement Allows Transferable Units
Business students at UCSC Silicon Valley Professional Education have an expanded opportunity to grow their career, thanks to a new partnership agreement that invites them to transfer credits toward a Master of Business Administration degree and a Master of Technology Management degree at Notre Dame de Namur University.
“Education is a never-ending process for staying competitive,” said James Fogal, dean of the School of Business and Management at NDNU. “With the partnership between NDNU and UCSC Silicon Valley Extension, we now can provide a pathway for students who have earned a Business Administration certificate to transfer into NDNU’s MBA program.”
The new articulation partnership bridges two institutions with rich legacies of professional learning in Silicon Valley.
A Tailored Business Administration Program
The UCSC Silicon Valley Business Administration certificate program provides professionals with practical skills to handle the day-to-day aspects of running a business and master evidence-based methods to maximize company performance. Students personalize their program by choosing from four tracks of study:
- Business Essentials
- Financial Analysis/Accounting
- Management Development
- Marketing Business Development
Once they’ve successfully completed the 19-quarter-unit program, earned their professional certificate and a digital badge, and met the grade requisites for NDNU, students may transfer up to six semester credits to the 36-semester-unit MBA program.*
Balancing Theory and Experience
Students in NDNU’s MBA program learn to interpret finances, crank out cost-benefit analyses, and increase operational efficiencies in a 12-course program that balances theory with experiential practice.
Students can complete the UCSC SV certificate in six to 12 months, then go on to complete the NDNU MBA in fewer than 18 months.
Both programs are designed for the working professional, offering short intensive courses primarily on weeknights and weekends in in-person, and live-online modalities.
“We’re excited about providing Silicon Valley professionals multiple pathways to get competencies and credentials,” said P.K. Agarwal, dean, UCSC Silicon Valley Professional Education. “Both of our institutions have long histories of educating Silicon Valley professionals. This is the way of the future, institutions collaborating to serve the best interest of the student.”
This is the second articulation agreement between the two institutions. UCSC Silicon Valley students completing the TESOL certificate program can transfer into the Master of Arts TESOL program at Notre Dame de Namur University.
