A certificate at UC Santa Cruz Silicon Valley Professional Education can take you even further thanks to recent transfer strategic agreements with several universities and associations that pave the way for higher degrees and professional certifications.
“Our collaborations with leading academic institutions and industry groups create opportunities and facilitate vital connections,” said P.K. Agarwal, dean of UCSC Silicon Valley. “Each agreement provides our students with a new avenue to leverage their education for greater career progression.”
Students in select programs will be able to enjoy the high value of learning from industry professionals in University of California-approved courses online and in-person courses, then seamlessly transfer credits. It ushers in a new era of educational flexibility and career progression.
Agreements announced this month
- Notre Dame de Namur University accepts our Educational Therapy certificate program as providing more than half of the units needed for the NDNU Master’s Degree in Educational Therapy.
- Western Governors University recognizes that our students’ learning in various certificate programs meets its own competency-based learning equivalent so they may apply credits toward several bachelor’s and master’s degree programs.
A long history of community alliances
Students have been able to benefit from long-held transfer agreements between UCSC Silicon Valley Professional Education and various institutions, including Northeastern University, University of San Francisco, and Hawai’i Pacific University.
On the professional certification front, individual courses and certificates also provide credit that counts toward certifications or professional status in several organizations including:
- the HR Certification Institute®,
- the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM),
- the Project Management Institute®, and
- the Certified Public Accountant exam.
